This class introduces the technicians to the proper set-up and use of the digital storage oscilloscope. How to maneuver, set-up, capture, store and recover waveforms. Learn how to utilize the power of the scope to acquire that intermittent signal and how to perform measurements including voltage, amperage or frequency. Learn the proper hook-up along with set-up to capture the desired waveforms. Learn what a trigger is, trigger slop - or + and the advantage or disadvantage of using a trigger. Learn what AC or DC coupling means and which one to select based on the circuit or signal.

Lab Scope vs. Scan Tool Data - which is fastest and most efficient? MAP Sensor monitor with PICO - starting basic set up, plug ins and connections. Misfire Diagnosis - Pico - Basic hook up, relative compression test, In-cylinder pressure testing with digital pressure transducer, intake delta pressure, current measurement of coils ramp up, current injector ramp up, measure spark KV, O2 sensorcycles.
Crankshaft & Camshaft sync test using relative compression and primary ignition voltage cyl #1 coil. Pico and other brands (Snap-On)? What accessories or kits are needed to make the PICO functional, PICO software and connections on lap top and PICO Technology library access. Low voltage clamps, usage & hook up - BASIC! Voltage clamp use in ground path measurements and basic sensor, relay ,motor and solenoid hook up and function test.
Once your comfort level with navigation and set-up of the scope is mastered, you will utilize your scope to maximize your diagnostic time. Utilizing your scope early in the diagnostic process will allow you to gather a lot of information in a short period of time.
